Board members of Enyimba Football Club paid a visit to the team on Wednesday and lifted the spirits of the players ahead of their clash with Inter Lagos on Sunday.
This is the first time the board would meet the team this season and their presence alongside the Chairman, FIFA Amb. Kanu Nwankwo was encouraging to the boys.
The team have played two games in the season already, involving trips to Minna against Niger Tornadoes and Gombe for Doma United. Next is a must-win home tie against Inter Lagos on Sunday.
Vice Chairman of the club, Captain Eric Iheanacho Asogwa who spoke on behalf of the Board pledged support for the team, the Chairman and the welfare of the club.
“Our Chairman is a man of peace. We are here to support him and to support the club as well.
“Many people are looking up to you, including younger ones. Enyimba should win the league this season. We are here to promise you our support.
“I am telling you that the Chairman, the Board and all the administrative crew are behind you. We have decided to support this team
“We are working as a team under the leadership of the chairman,” said Asogwa.
The People’s Elephants seek their first three points of the season when they face Inter Lagos on Sunday at the Enyimba Stadium.
