With only 12 days remaining until the Yenagoa City International 10KM Race, Bayelsa State, in partnership with Nilayo Sports Management Ltd, has announced plans to host the official World Press Conference on April 3, 2026.
The conference will gather key stakeholders in athletics, including representatives from World Athletics, government officials, race organizers, and members of the media.
It is designed to officially showcase the race to the global sporting community, emphasize its importance, and demonstrate Bayelsa State’s readiness to deliver a world-class event.
The Yenagoa City 10KM Race continues to build international recognition, attracting top runners from across Nigeria and beyond. The involvement of World Athletics delegates highlights the race’s rising profile and adherence to international standards.
In preparation for race day, participants can collect their race kits from April 1 to April 3, 2026, at Peace Park, Mbiama, Yenagoa. All registered runners are expected to pick up their kits within this timeframe.
Organizers have expressed strong confidence in the state’s level of preparedness, assuring athletes, officials, and spectators of a smooth and memorable experience.
Beyond competition, the Yenagoa City 10KM Race serves as a platform to promote fitness, tourism, and community engagement across Bayelsa State.
