Wikki Tourists boosted their survival hopes with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bayelsa United in a tense NPFL26 Matchday 34 clash in Yenagoa.
The decisive moment came in the 67th minute when in-form striker Jonathan Mairiga rose highest to power home a header from a well-delivered ball by Imamu Bala, sealing all three points for the visitors.
The goal marked Mairiga’s 10th of the season, underlining his importance as Wikki Tourists’ leading scorer in the ongoing campaign.
It was a fiercely contested encounter, with both teams battling intensely across the pitch.
However, Wikki Tourists demonstrated resilience, discipline, and strong tactical organisation to hold onto their narrow lead until the final whistle.
