President of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Beach Volleyball Commission, Engineer Musa Nimrod, has welcomed participating countries to the 2026 African Nations Cup Beach Volleyball Zone 3 Qualifiers taking place in Badagry, Lagos State.
Nimrod expressed delight at Nigeria’s opportunity to host the regional championship and expose West African teams.
He describes it as another milestone in the country’s commitment to the growth of beach volleyball across Africa.
He assured all participating teams, officials and delegates of a warm reception and a well-organised tournament that reflects Nigeria’s hospitality and sporting excellence.
“This tournament is important because it provides our players with quality competitive matches ahead of the World Championship in the Netherlands.
“We are also committed to ensuring that all participating teams enjoy a memorable experience in Badagry,” Nimrod said.
He added that hosting the tournament further demonstrates Nigeria’s growing reputation as a destination for major volleyball events and aligns with the federation’s vision of promoting beach volleyball development across Africa.
He urged participating teams to compete in the spirit of friendship, fair play and sportsmanship while enjoying the rich cultural heritage and scenic coastline of Badagry.
The five-day championship, scheduled from July 3 to July 7, 2026, features men’s and women’s competitions involving six West African nations: Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Ghana, Nigeria, Niger Republic and Liberia.
