The President of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) and FIVB Executive Vice President, Bouchra Hajij, has congratulated the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) following the country’s triumph at the 2026 U18 Boys African Nations Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt.
In a congratulatory message addressed to the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod, Hajij also commended the Federation’s Board of Administration, the technical and support staff, and the players for their outstanding achievement in securing the continental title.
She described Nigeria’s victory as a reflection of the Federation’s dedication, discipline, and sustained investment in youth volleyball development, noting that emerging champions in such a highly competitive tournament demonstrated the effectiveness of the country’s long-term development programme.
The CAVB President reserved special praise for the players, applauding their determination, resilience, and exceptional performances throughout the championship.
“They have demonstrated the true values of sport and have earned their place as deserving African champions,” Hajij said.
She added that Nigeria’s success highlights the importance of investing in young athletes, describing the country’s commitment to youth development as an example for other African nations and a significant contribution to the growth of volleyball across the continent.
Encouraging the Federation to build on its success, Hajij expressed confidence that the current generation of players would continue to excel at both continental and international levels.
She concluded by wishing the Nigeria Volleyball Federation continued success in its future programmes and expressed optimism that the newly crowned champions would inspire the next generation of volleyball players across Africa.
