Kaduna is set to take centre stage in Nigerian beach soccer as the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super Four Finals get underway from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20 at the Murtala Muhammed Square.
The three-day championship will see Kada Beach Soccer Club, Kebbi Fishers Beach Soccer Club, Niger Beach Soccer Club and Ibom Beach Soccer Club battle in a round-robin contest for the 2026 NBSL title.
Each team will play three matches, with the side finishing with the best record crowned champions at the end of the competition.
The opening fixtures on Friday will see Niger BSC face three-time champions Kebbi Fishers at 4:30pm, before host Kada BSC takes on Ibom BSC at 5:30pm.
Saturday will feature Kebbi Fishers against Ibom BSC, followed by Kada BSC versus Niger BSC, while the final day will see Ibom BSC take on Niger BSC before the much-anticipated clash between Kada BSC and Kebbi Fishers.
Adding further excitement to the Kaduna championship will be a four-team women’s beach soccer tournament, which will run alongside the Super Four.
The women’s matches are scheduled to begin at 3:00pm daily, providing an important platform for female beach soccer players while giving spectators additional action before the men’s championship fixtures.
The final day will also feature an exhibition encounter between the NBSL All-Stars and SWAN All-Stars, adding a novelty attraction to the championship programme and further strengthening the relationship between beach soccer stakeholders and the sports media.
The Super Four brings together the best-performing teams from the 2026 regular season.
Kada BSC finished top of the regular-season standings with 16 points and were the only team to complete the campaign unbeaten. They also had the league’s best defensive record, conceding just nine goals, while their 31 goals made them the highest-scoring side.
Kebbi Fishers, meanwhile, arrive in Kaduna with a strong championship pedigree. The club won the inaugural NBSL title in 2021 before adding further championships in 2023 and 2024.
The Kebbi side arrived in Kaduna on September 13 and has been conducting an intensive training camp ahead of the decisive championship phase.
Niger BSC will make their historic maiden Super Four appearance after finishing third with nine points. Their forward, Hassan Abubakar, was one of the standout performers of the regular season, scoring 11 goals.
Ibom BSC complete the four-team championship line-up and will be looking to upset the more established sides and challenge for the title.
The Kaduna finals will also provide national team coaches with an opportunity to identify players ahead of Nigeria’s Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Ghana.
With the NBSL crown at stake, a women’s tournament providing another major attraction and the All-Stars exhibition adding to the entertainment, Kaduna is set for three days of beach soccer action.
