Chairman of Warri Wolves Football Club of Warri, Delta State, Mr. Neville Ambakederemo, has declared that the club’s major target this season is to secure a continental ticket.

Speaking exclusively to faksmedia.com on Thursday, the soft-spoken football administrator said the club has been given a clear mandate not only to participate in the league but to compete for a place on the continent.

“Ohis, we have already been given a target. It is not just to participate in the league; we have been told to set our eyes on the continent, at least.”

Ambakederemo noted that Warri Wolves have started the campaign with two away fixtures and are now looking forward to two crucial home matches against Kwara United and Rangers.

According to him, securing maximum points from the two home games could mark the beginning of the club’s continental ambition.

“We started with two away games, and now we have Kwara United to play at home. Next again is Rangers, also at home in Ozoro. I believe in the boys to get the maximum six points. Then we can say the dream for the continent has begun,” he said.

The Warri Wolves chairman also expressed appreciation to the Delta State Government and the State Sports Commission for their continued support for the club.

He said the backing from the state government has provided the necessary encouragement for the team to pursue its ambition of returning to continental football.

Ambakederemo stressed that with the support of the government, the Sports Commission, the players, technical crew and supporters, Warri Wolves remain determined to turn the continental dream into reality.
