FIFA experts Arm Moheb and Etienne Sockeng have commended the current Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) administration, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), for its visionary initiative to reposition Nigerian football through the introduction of the Amateur Football Environment Analysis (AFEA) programme.
The commendation comes at a time when Nigeria’s football ecosystem is charting a new course across various levels of the game, particularly within the amateur football environment.
The FIFA experts who are in the country for a two-day workshop on the presentation of the Amateur Football Environment Analysis in Nigeria, expressed their admiration for the work being undertaken by the Gusau-led administration to strengthen the foundation of Nigerian football and ensure that talented young footballers are identified, nurtured and developed from an early age.
They noted that initiatives such as the AFEA programme require strong foresight and a clear understanding of the importance of grassroots development to the long-term growth of football.
The recognition further highlights the reforms being implemented by the current NFF administration and reinforces calls for continuity as Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau seeks a second term as NFF President.
The Amateur Football Environment Analysis programme is another significant addition to the administration’s growing list of football development initiatives, aimed at providing a clearer understanding of the amateur football landscape and creating a stronger pathway for the discovery and development of future Nigerian football stars.
With grassroots football serving as the foundation for the country’s football pyramid, the AFEA initiative represents another step towards building a more structured, sustainable and talent-driven football development system in Nigeria.
