Opobo(Rivers, Sept. 28, 2026-The Bishop of Niger Delta Diocese, His Lordship, Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja has admonished the newly crowned King of Opobo Kingdom, HRM King Charles Douglas Mac Pepple Jaja, Jeki V1 on wisdom.

The cleric gave the admonition during a thanksgiving service on Sunday at St Marks Anglican Church, Kalaibiama in Opobo/ Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers .

The service was part of events marking the end of the king’s coronation exercise.

In his sermon titled: ‘Wisdom and Understanding Key to Successful Leadership’ the cleric emphsized on the importance of seeking God’s wisdom.

“Seeking wisdom and understanding from God Almighty is the only way to effectively achieve a peaceful reign,”he said.

In his Bible text from 1 Kings, where he identified king Solomon’s attributes as worthy of emulation , the cleric also described the new king as God’s annointed.

According to him, despite struggles among King David’s children concerning kingship, Solomon eventually emerged King of Isreal.

“Solomon having being crowned the King of Isreal, gave God a bountiful thanksgiving and prayed for wisdom and understanding to rule his people.

“God became pleased with him, answered his prayers also blessed him abundantly,”he said.

The cleric therefore, urged the new King to emulate King Solomon of the Bible by always seeking the face of God while serving the people.

“I specifically urge you to reject bad counsels from some unpatriotic induviduals, especially those in authority as this could poorly influence your decisions and choices.

“Do not listen to bad counsel as such could also jeopardise the peace of the kingdom,”he added..

The cleric also appealed to the King to strive towards strenghtening the peace in the kingdom by encouraging his people to withdraw all pending lawsuits amongst the war canoe houses.

He however, thanked the King for identifying with the church as he prayed for love and unity for the Kingdom.####
