Port Harcourt, April 22, 2026- The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt, Area 1 Command has donated several educational materials in support of the vision of Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA)
The donation is intended to assist the group deliver on commitment to education as well as members welfare.
The command’s Comptroller, Salamatu Atuluku handed over the donation to Mrs Mildred Anyienugwun, the COWA Acting Coordinator.
Atuluku said the donation comprising several customs customized books, school bags, umbrellas, and other school items, was a demonstration of unity, love, and the support system the agency is known for.
“Considering the demanding nature of officers’ duties, it had become necessary that we continue to show support by ensuring that their families, especially their children, feel valued at all times.
“Let me also respectfully acknowledge with deep appreciation the inputs of our Comptroller General, Adewale Adeniyi and his team.
“Their visionary leadership and consistent support for welfare driven initiatives across commands has remained a critical problem-solving model,” she said.
Atuluku said these human-oriented initiatives alongside visionary leadership of the President of COWA, Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi has continued to deliver sucour to households.
Mr Pascal Chibuoke, Zonal Coordinator, Zone C Headquarters thanked the command for the gesture.
Chibuoke also commended COWA for its resilience in fostering unity and growth amongst members and their families and urged them to continue spotlighting the group’s vision.
The Customs official also urged beneficiaries to ensure good use of the items given them.
Earlier, Anyienugwun, on behalf of COWA thanked the Comptroller for the gesture, describing it as timely.
She said that the items which formed part of basic back-to-school needs would go a long way in providing relief for parents.
