….FIVB Approves 12-Month Technical Support for Nigeria Volleyball
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has secured a 12-month technical support programme from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) with the appointment of Japanese coach Ryan Masajedi.
The official unveiling ceremony took place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Package B, Abuja, on Wednesday, in Abuja.
Speaking at the event,NVBF President Musa Nimrod revealed that the agreement with FIVB goes beyond the traditional three-month coaching support usually offered by the global volleyball body.
According to Nimrod, FIVB will be responsible for Masajedi’s monthly allowance and travel arrangements into and out of Nigeria after the completion of his assignment.
“The FIVB will pay his allowance monthly, and they will also take care of his ticket coming into Nigeria and departing after the 12 months,” he said.
However, he noted that the federation would handle other responsibilities, including accommodation, transportation and welfare arrangements during the coach’s stay.
Nimrod said the programme would be monitored by both NVBF and FIVB to ensure the objectives of the project are achieved.
He added that the initiative was designed to strengthen Nigeria’s technical capacity and prepare local coaches to eventually take full responsibility for national teams.
