Bichi First Football Club of Kano have appointed experienced Nigerian tactician Coach Patrick Bassey as their new Technical Adviser, in a move that underlines the club’s growing ambition and determination to build a competitive team capable of making a strong impact in Nigerian football.
Bassey brings to Bichi First FC valuable experience acquired across different levels of the domestic game, with a coaching profile built around tactical discipline, player development and youth football. His appointment adds considerable experience to a club that is rapidly establishing itself as one of the emerging football projects in Kano.
The tactician has handled important assignments within Nigeria’s football development structure and has worked with several teams at both youth and senior levels. His experience includes coaching roles with Prison Football Club and Hybrid Football Academy, as well as assignments within Nigeria’s youth development system.
Bassey was also appointed Head Coach of Ranchers Bees FC ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria National League season, where he was tasked with helping the Kaduna-based club pursue its promotion ambitions. He later resigned from the position for personal reasons.
He subsequently joined Yobe Desert Stars FC as Technical Adviser for the second stanza of the 2025/26 NNL season, bringing his experience and technical expertise to the club as it sought to strengthen its campaign.
His appointment at Bichi First FC now opens a new chapter in his coaching career, with the Kano-based club expected to benefit from his experience in talent development, tactical organisation and domestic football management.
Bichi First FC have emerged as one of the promising football projects in Kano, with a clear focus on developing young talents and building a competitive side. The club’s recent performances have further demonstrated its ambition to establish itself as a force in the state and beyond.
The arrival of Bassey is therefore expected to provide the technical leadership required to translate that ambition into sustained success, while creating a stronger pathway for talented young players to progress.
