The National Institute for Sports (NIS) has taken another step in improving the welfare, appearance and professional identity of its student coaches with the presentation of new official tracksuits to students undergoing training at the Institute.
Described as the best tracksuits provided to NIS students in the history of the Institute in terms of quality, design and aesthetics, the new kits have added a fresh sense of identity and pride to the student coaching community.
The initiative is part of the deliberate reforms being driven by the Director General/CEO of NIS, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, who has continued to emphasise that the repositioning of the Institute must reflect not only in its academic programmes, but also in the welfare, experience and overall development of its students.
Under the Shaibu-led Management, student welfare is being given greater attention, with efforts aimed at creating a more conducive and professional environment for future coaches to learn, train and develop.
The new tracksuits are therefore more than just sportswear. They represent a renewed approach to student engagement, institutional identity and professionalism, while giving NIS student coaches a stronger sense of belonging as they prepare for their careers in the Nigerian sports industry.
For an Institute whose responsibility is to produce the coaches that will shape the future of Nigerian sports, the standard must begin from the training environment.
With quality training, improved welfare and a stronger institutional identity becoming key components of the ongoing reforms, NIS continues to move towards its goal of producing better equipped, confident and professionally grounded coaches for Nigerian sports.
The look has changed. The standard has been raised. The reform continues.
