President of the Nigeria Netball Federation, Dr.l Esther Oluwatoyin Aluko, has expressed deep appreciation after being named among the recipients of the Sportsville Special Recognition Award.
Dr Aluko is one of the distinguished personalities selected for honour at the 6th edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards scheduled for March 28 at the Lagos Country Club, Lagos.
In her acceptance message, the former netball player described the award as a significant recognition of her journey in sports administration and development.
“I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to receive the Sportsville Special Recognition Award,” she said.
“This recognition is not only a celebration of my personal journey but also a tribute to the many mentors, colleagues, athletes, administrators and partners who have walked this path with me.
“Whatever impact my contributions may have made in sports development has been possible because of the collective commitment of passionate individuals who believe in the transformative power of sport.”
Dr Aluko said the recognition has further strengthened her commitment to continue contributing to sports development.
“I accept this award with humility and renewed dedication to continue serving the sporting community with integrity, excellence and purpose,” she added.
She also described sport as a powerful tool for youth empowerment, national unity and the advancement of women, stressing her commitment to its growth and sustainability.
Dr Aluko currently serves as the National Course Director for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Sports Administration Course.
The 6th edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards will be chaired by Dr Larry Izamoje, Chairman of Brila FM Group.
