The leadership of the Ekiti FA under Aare Oluwole Oloworemo, has taken a decisive step toward strengthening football administration in the state following a strategic meeting with club owners and members of the Coaches Association.
The meeting, held on April 3, 2026, brought together key factors in Ekiti football to deliberate on pressing issues affecting the development of the game at the grassroots levels.
The FA Boss, Aare Oluwole Oloworemo, emphasized the need for a clear structural separation between club owners and coaches, noting that both groups play distinct roles in the football ecosystem. According to him, establishing independent operational frameworks for each body would enhance professionalism, improve coordination, and ultimately drive sustainable growth in the state’s football sector.
He acknowledged the short notice of the meeting and appreciated the stakeholders for their commitment and willingness to attend, describing their presence as a sign of shared dedication to football development in Ekiti.
The coaches association commended the FA leadership for initiating the dialogue. Reaffirmed their readiness to support policies and programs that would move the game forward. Also highlighted the importance of strategic planning among club owners, drawing comparisons with more structured football systems where long-term vision plays a key role in success.
The club owners expressed their willingness to adapt and contribute more effectively to football administration in the state with developmental programs.
Oloworemo, reiterated his commitment to implementing impactful football programs. He outlined plans that include coaching development initiatives, organized competitions, and other strategic interventions aimed at revitalizing football across Ekiti State.
He further stressed the importance of unity among stakeholders, noting that collaboration remains the cornerstone of progress in sports development.
