
CGC Adewale Adeniyi MFR, PhD
Port Harcourt, July 11, 2026- The Comptroller General of Customs(CGC) Adewale Adeniyi’s tenure extension and re- election as chairman of World Customs Organization Council has continued to generate commendation from the leadership and members of the ‘Business and Maritime Writer’s Association of Nigeria'( BUWWAN).
This is contained in a press statement co-signed by the group’s National President, Mr Peter Ihejirika and his National Secretary Pastor Tony Nzekwe, and made available on Friday to newsmen in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Capital.
The statement read in part: “The Comptroller General of Customs, Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, PhD has demonstrated a rare leadership quality and excellence in strengthening stakeholders cooperation in global trade and its value chain.
His tenure extension is seen by executive and members of our association as a welcomed development.
We say so, because since assumption of office as Chairman of WCO Council, the CGC had initiated several policies and built bridges towards enhancing stakeholders reforms in line with global treaties.
His innovative strategies had continued to reshape trade facilitation and sustainable development. ”
